Be A Bridge Builder

Here you can find resources to begin the process toward racial reconciliation in your own life.  Be the Bridge is an organization that serves as an on-ramp to reconciliation.  Going through a group or using these resources will not solve things.  Reconciliation is an ongoing work of repentance and restoration.

1. Be the Bridge website

This site will link you to lots of resources and information and is the best starting place.

2. Podcasts

Podcasts are a simple way to hear different perspectives as you drive, work, do chores around the house, or workout.  Here are a few we recommend: Truth’s Table, Pass the Mic, Q Podcast Episode 035 “A Conversation on Race and America: Greg Thompson, Michelle Higgins and David Bailey,” and The Table Podcast “Diversity and Reconciliation in the Early Church.

3. Blog Series by Lanie Anderson

Lanie is a currently a student at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary who previously served at a campus ministry at the University of Mississippi.  She has a heart and a gift for being a bridge builder.  She is currently helping develop Be the Bridge material for college groups and writing for Faithfully Magazine.

On her blog, Lanie processes her walk with God and others in pursuing racial unity.  This is the first of 4 posts that answers a common question she has received, “Why I care so much about race?” You can follow along with all four parts, beginning with this one.

4. Join a Be the Bridge group this Fall

Fall groups will begin Tuesday, September 19th at 6pm at the Tupelo Campus. They will meet every other Tuesday and are open to any woman over 18 years old.  Sign Up HERE!
